Ah right, Flying Monkeys , try this one on for size. I'm not keen on dubstep but this one does it for me: That's really nice till it goes all wobbly at about 1:20. I really like the dreamy beginning. (We better be careful otherwise yggdrasil will step in and tell us he's been listening to them since the 70s and knows every goddam thing about every member of the band and how he used to queue up at some shitty record shop to get all their shit when Johnny Rotten or some such was working the till blahdy blahdy blah....)

No, it's to stop companies selling your data without your knowledge. Nothing to do with free speech, solely to do with consumer protection. I'm sure they think they have a good reason to restrict your access. But it still limits your access to speech. The U.S. and the U.K. don't have this law and we're doing just fine. The UK still does. And you are still missing the point - it's about getting rid of shady operators who will sell your data without your knowledge so you get a ton of annoying cold calls or spam emails. I don't want to hear their speech. Operate above board or fuck off.

We're talking about your inability to access a news story which I can see because I live in the U.S. - and you can't.
You said, and I quote:
I can't see that site because we are still have some EU laws in place. Stupid EU - I wanted to see it!
So now you don't think the EU law is stupid - all a sudden?
Dude, I fear not being able to read that story. So I'm thrilled I'm not subject to EU laws which limit my access to information.
This is pure bullshit.

Listen sunshine, it's Sunday, which is my day off, and I'm three large vodkas in, so don't expect any consistency from me today. Just so we're clear on that. And no, I don't care about some crap website that's going to sell my shit to a bunch of twats to send me spam mail about free toilet roll.

You have a disease and you're losing to it, fantastically. Call a family member, find a meeting. You should be the first person saying this is not good enough for you. It's unacceptable.

The U.S. and the U.K. (before your country was occupied by EU "troops") gave you maximum freedom to see and read more information.
So you're okay with the Nanny State regulating the internet. I'm not.
This is a Fourth Reich German law which restricts your freedom of information and the ability of internet sites to do business. It's bullshit!

Yes, "man sniffs feet" is information. I'll get right on that. So glad I heard. And got all the spam calls as well, because they are information too.

Never had one of those. I used to get a load from recruitment agents - stupid LinkedIn sells your back-up phone number. Hate that site.

Lemme ask you though. Just what kind of information are you giving them by clicking on a website? Your name and URL? Big deal. Who gives a shit? The sky is not falling. The sanctity of free information on the internet trumps it.
