Me too. Liking it but it's going slow. Not because of the material but with football starting and the baseball playoff races, September and October is a poor time for a new book

It's a shame you saw the movie version of Ghost Story first. It's just such a watered-down, simplistic adaptation of a mammoth novel. Agreed. The movie’s casting is so great (well, for the old men—not Craig Wasson), with Fred Astaire doing one helluva job, and some of the atmosphere is good. But a lot of the movie is just dull, and it entirely misses the point of the book.

The Missing by Sarah Langan
I didn't realize it's the squeal to another book. I might read the first book next, depending on how much I like this one..
Edit: It was okay. The ending was sudden and it felt like the author was leaving the door open to a third book, but from what I can tell, there never was a third one. I may still go back. And read the first book, but not right away.
