What happened with Bayern Munich? After winning the Bundesliga 11 years in a row, it really should not be the end of the world ending up as number two or three. After winning 11 in a row I'd be surprised if there wasn't a wholesale clean out: coaches, players, administrators and a general reaction aa if the sky had fallen in. Remember last year they sacked Ollie Khan as their CEO because they just barely won the league. I can't imagine them losing the league and then saying "Well done lads. Good run while it lasted. Let's Pat ourselves on the back and try again next year."

Pretty good night of sport. Carlton lost. Panthers won. Liverpool crashed out of the title race. Fabio Quatararo finished on the podium from 23rd on the grid in the MotoGP and Leverkusen stayed undefeated.

Of their 48 undefeated games across all competitions, Leverkusen have won 40 of those. It means they are now one game away from surpassing the unbeaten run a Eusebio-led Benfica side managed between December 1963 and February 1965. That feat by the Portuguese giants stood alone as the longest unbeaten run since the advent of European competition, according to Uefa, until Leverkusen equalled it with their 5-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.

They simply will not be beaten.
Equalise in the 97th minute against Roma having been 2-0 down.
Thru to the Europa League final 4-2 on aggregate where they will play Atalanta.
49 games unbeaten in all competitions is a new record for a European club side.

They could end this season with 53 games unbeaten in all competitions. They could still be technically unbeaten if they lose both their cup finals on penalties.
