Certainly we view this as barbaric and it is.
But possibly Kristi Noem comes from "planet farm" where farm animals
that are no longer useful and or cannot be sold end up being "destroyed".
Because people who were raised on a "farm" are trained early on
that the animals they raise must bring a profit or serve a
profitable purpose weighed against the cost of raising that animal.
It could be that Kristi Noem had no more emotional attachment
to that dog than any other farm animal and simply decided
that it was no longer profitable and was causing "financial loss".
Farms cannot afford to operate at a loss so people who were raised on a farm
tend to think in those terms regarding animals, and sometimes humans in relationships.
Such people are almost always Conservatives and can be very dangerous just being around them.

Do you kill livestock and attack humans? You're getting put down either way. It didn't "attack humans." She claims it tried biting her when it was attacking the chickens. That's sonething else entirely, and given her training skills, I'm going to assume it was due to human error. And she was training it to hunt pheasants and got pissed it attacked someone's chickens. It was her fault she didn't secire her animal in the first place. She also said she hated the dog, so no emotion at all about shooting her 14-minth old puppy she didn't know how to train. The woman sounds like a fucking idiot. |

There's a difference between livestock and pets.
Sure, reasonable people have no problem with euthanizing a sick or dangerous animal.
But even cowboys have emotional attachments to pets.
There is something troubling about the woman.

Kind of parallel to serial killers with the sick animal-killing fetish. What would she do to any other human being who so incited and infuriated her for that matter, including her own flesh and blood and other loved ones? Happens quite a bit in our society, unfortunately. |
