Birds get by on two.
Why do dogs have to be greedy and have four?

Theyβre little more than a nose on legs. May as well be close to the ground.

Birds get by on two. Why do dogs have to be greedy and have four? Because.....if they had only 2....they would be called......Kangaroos :)

So they can balance on the other three when theyβre taking a leak on your leg.

Birds get by on two. Why do dogs have to be greedy and have four? Technically dogs, birds, horses, humans, etc. All have a pattern of 5, which is 4 limbs and a head just like most land mammals. Which is why humans are practically a walking talking genetic catalog of nearly all the other related land mammals. Most animals on Earth are based off the same pattern of 5 except for a few creatures that live in the ocean or other water. It is the reason why you have 5 fingers and 5 toes. When you examine the bone structure of a bird's wing, you can see that it is actually an arm and hand like structure covered in feathers that is modified for flight. So if you were transformed into a bird, your arms and hands would become wings and your hair would become feathers.

So they can balance on the other three when theyβre taking a leak on your leg. I manage to stand on one leg when I take a leak, so why can't they? Because humans have a uniquely evolved inner ear structure that permits humans to walk upright for a prolonged period of time and still keep balance, other animals can't do that. As for language, other animals do talk to other members of their own species just not in the same way that humans do.
