www.waterstones.com/book/the-assault-on-truth/peter-oborne/9781398501003The scale and shamelessness of the lying of the Johnson administration far exceeds the lying about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction and other issues under Tony Blair. This book argues that the ruthless use of political deceit under the Johnson government is part of a wider attack on civilised values and traditional institutions across the Western world, especially by Donald Trump in the USA. The Johnson and Trump methodology of deceit is about securing power for its own ends - even when they get exposed for lying, they shrug it off as a matter of no consequence. .....Should be remembered that Peter Oborne is a lifelong arch Tory.

Oh yeah, tens of thousands have died as a result of Johnson's bullshit? Clearly this person is over-exaggerating massively just to sell stuff.
Fits your agenda though, so I'm sure you've ordered copies for the whole street.

I assumed this was about LBJ until I read Monkeys's post.
The book's clearly garbage even from the limited information we get about it.

I assumed this was about LBJ until I read Monkeys's post. The book's clearly garbage even from the limited information we get about it. He's a very well respected commentator and life long supporter of the Conservative party which gives it a certain cache. Used to be main political editor for the staunchly Tory Daily Telegraph. If he is bashing the new style of right wing politic, then it is worth taking notice.
