I submitted your article to my father to get his expert opinion. He wrote me a long reply, including many points of our discussions. He hopes you will " benefit", but as you know, I have no hopes. Because your view of the world is both " unbelievable and unacceptable". My father asks you to please " help yourself and learn from those who learned something in their long academic lives". See, my father is a nice person. He has hope. But I am not that optimistic and hopeful and as nice - as you know. I believe this is genuine. A western academic is not likely to say ‘learn from those who learned something in their long academic lives’. But Turks or Iranians, not known for their humility, certainly would. They are also the kind of people to spawn someone with stunted emotional development. Look, who is talking?! :)))))))))))))))))))))))))) Our resident pistachiobrain and pseudo-orientalist. Who are you to tallk of "humility" and "stunted emotional development"? :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) You are an internet troll and you are over forty and still haven't graduated from kindergarten. It is not your place to make these assessments. Damn! :)))))))))))))))))))))))))) Your complete lack of self-awareness is comical. My stepfather is also a scholar and he can show you and me one thing or two about arrogance. He is German, as you know. And as if you knew anything about academics. :))))))))))))))))))))))) We all know neither you nor your friends here have seen any universities from inside. :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Thanks for the laughs.

Dunno. I know a number of Turks and they are pretty much the same as anyone else, unless you say, "Roja te baş be." Then they roll around the floor and scream that they are Turks, not Kurds and that you are a senile old bastard.
But then they remember their manners and knock £1 off the price of a kilo of hummus. Or at least they do at the Istanbul Supermarket at Swiss Cottage.
But Jill is just weird. She can't handle a debate and has retreated into a world of anti white, tree hugging hysteria, which is probably why her folks sent her to Germany on that mud wrestling course. I am sure they love her, but felt the need for a bit of a break.
If an English academic said that, you’d assume he’s on the spectrum. You and your friends are all on the idiot spectrum. That much is obvious.

(1) Good. Because you would also contradict Einstein. (2) No, it's not speculation: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27137139/(3) As stated in the article and quoted by me, this research challenges these findings. Perceived racism? And now you are telling others what their experiences are? Just like how Freud told all those women their experience of sexual abuse was not real, but were only fantasies? Because he couldn't afford to embarrass the Viennese society? Lol. "Perceived racism"? What are you embarrassed of? That one would only need to look at this thread to see what kind of racism has still persisted? No, the racism is real and you won't gaslight anybody into thinking anything else.

See, my father is a nice person. He has hope. But I am not that optimistic and hopeful and as nice - as you know. Your dad is brilliant. I really enjoyed talking to him that one time even though is was kind of confrontational. I wish he'd come visit more.

I really enjoyed talking to him that one time even though is was kind of confrontational. I wish he'd come visit more. I asked him several times to register and get all the wrongs out. But he says he he doesn't want to deal with this. He also thinks I am wasting my time. Nonetheless, if you have any questions, I can ask him. I know how to sell you.

He also thinks I am wasting my time. It's possible. You are certainly taking these discussions far too seriously :) On the other hand, I don't think old-school political clubs still exist. You know, a place where you can argue with people from all over the political spectrum. There would be tears at the very least. Probably blood. So unless one is looking for a life-action echo chamber there're just internet forums. Nothing specific but he sounds like an classic intellectual and these are almost extinct. For example, I wholeheartedly agree with his views on universality of the scientific method but you do know there are folks in Western academia who challenge this approach and proclaim science and objectivism to be "tools of oppression" etc. So... I don't know, occasionally we discuss generic subjects which do not trigger heated arguments and personal insults and it would nice if you could bully him into chipping in. :)

But he gets furious. He told me about these posts that he didn't want to deal with "fundamentalists". He is mad at me for "wasting my time here". But I am trying. I asked him so many times to come and clean up those boards. He is not only much more intelligent than I am, he is also the nicer person. And it's true. He is a classical intellectual. He just bought a second place to store his books, because only one appartment is not enough. :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I will tell him. And thank you so much for your friendly post in the middle of this tit-for-tat.
