I had a weird dream many years ago that Australia and New Zealand went to war, and it was me that started it... So apparently us and New Zealand had a land border in Victoria, around Mallacoota somewhere, and it consisted of one sheep farm. The owners needed to produce their passports if they wanted to leave to go shopping and such, and they were constantly pissed off. The man of the house lost it and attacked a friend of mine, before retreating back to his farm. Despite the fact I live in North Queensland I was somehow travelling to this part of Victoria within minutes from my own home. I vowed revenge, so me and some other people jumped the border, took him and his family prisoner and claimed the farm for Australia. NZ sent their version of the SAS, which my friends and I easily defeated. Their PM responded by declaring war on Australia. Our navy responded, wiping out the few ships they have, before capturing some coastline on the North island (btw this all happened within minutes of the DoW). The kiwis were being defeated, so they bombed zoos right across Australia and released all sorts of animals, causing crippling damage to farmland and livestock. Norfolk Island sided with NZ and declared war on Australia as well. The end result was still an Aussie victory, but with many lives lost on both sides, Norfolk Island lost all autonomy, New Zealand relinquished all claims on that farm and its government collapsed. And my friends and I got a fine for our trouble.

The only war is the one against the All Blacks.

Well the Aussies lost a war against a flightless bird, so already their track record is against them.
New Zealand Army is mostly designed for colonial (read UN now) support, not defending our home land. I am not sure if it is still the case, in the 90's NZ invasion doctrine was similar to operation Werewolf, where they army would disperse and start guerilla wars.
