But we know that he will throw a load of civil servants under the bus to save himself. There seems to be a minute dribble of opposition appearing but the big guns know they owe their jobs to him so will wait. Truss is the one making me laugh, she is desperately turning up on things trying to support him while sticking the knife in at the same time. She is desperate for the top job.

Plus, Truss started out as a Remainer and the Tory grassroots elected Boris because he promised to bomb Brussels, so our Liz is going to have a hill to climb.
My money is on Sunak. He does not drink, smoke and as far as is known, bonk anything other than billionaires' daughters, but he likes to keep taxes down and that has to be a plus.

Brexit is over, no one cares apart from some real mental types either way. Time to get on with some real governing. Sunak should be a shoe in, depends on whether his billionaire marriage and his race will go against him in any way. Gove as an outsider? Probably the best "politician" but being a speccy twat may count against him.

10 point Labour lead now.... www.politicshome.com/news/article/labour-shadow-cabinet-keir-starmerFirst time the country seem to be seeing Starmer's party as a realistic alternative. With the sleaze affecting all the Tory party and the refusal of Tory MPs to condemn Boris, this could well turn into a long term problem for the Conservatives beyond just Boris.

Brexit is over, no one cares apart from some real mental types either way. That is because you are a lefty Ash and secretly long for a strong leader who will tell you what to do and give you the occasional kick in the balls.
What this country needs is a competent book keeper who will keep taxes down and us out of the hands of Keir Starmer's friends in Brussels. As to the rest, we will sort our own lives out

Brexit is not over until we secure our waters from EU-supported dinghyists! Proposals? 1. Offshore processing centres. 2. Pick them up in northern France so they don't even set sail. 3. Financial and operational support for countries in Eastern Europe to secure their borders with physical barriers to cut off the supply. 4. Longer-term - sizeable investment in the middle east to help prosperity so people don't need to leave in the first place.

1. where? Already been suggested but too expensive?
2. You'll just get millions more than the relative few that risk the crossing now
3.It's mainly Turkey and Libya (economic migrants) and we are already paying them millions to stop the situation being worse than it is
4. Most ME is people fleeing from war, nothing to do with prosperity (that's the African ones through Libya) So unless you get involved in Syria and go up against Russia you can't change anything.

How can a place like Albania be more too expensive vs the UK? 2. Maybe. So pick them up in the water and take them straight to the planes. 3. Build the walls. 4. ME wars start because the people haven't got shit. Help get them a decent life and they'll calm down. It's the same principle as giving dole to the scum - it's not because we care about them, it's to stop them thieving from the decent people.

Difficult to tell whether it's that or just an anti-Boris feeling. I suspect most of it is due to the latter. Labour's biggest problem is they always have the economy-destroying far left creeping around in the background waiting to strike.

Labour's biggest problem is they always have the economy-destroying far left creeping around in the background waiting to strike. Well, given the projected 4% loss to the economy projected by The Office Of Budget Responsibility, it's the far right Brexit at any expense Conservative's that are the real problem.

I wonder if Boris is praying this is the week that Putin goes into the Ukraine. I think that may be his only "get out of Jail free" card.
