Never. I have about 3 maybe 4 cups of coffee a day and that's it. Wait, you never drink non-decaf? I assume you mean you drink regular (caffeinated) coffee, in which case, if you drink 3 or 4 cups of caffeinated a day, it's no surprise you don't feel the caffeine, because you have plenty of the enzyme that deals with caffeine so your body processes it quickly before it builds up. I don't drink the stuff so my enzyme is low to non-existent, so if I drink caffeinated coffee, the caffeine just builds and builds, and that's what feels awful. Takes about an hour for it to subside. All that caffeine is bad for you if you have a fast metabolism and tend to be hyperactive anyway. But if you have a slow metabolism like I do, then you can get by with just 1 or 2 small meals per day and perhaps one 32 oz Coca Cola or Dr. Pepper per day during Summer or 2 cups of hazelnut or regular coffee per day during Winter. I have the occasional dark chocolate bar with almonds, it is part of my anti-aging regimen. Although in your case it sounds like you aren't drinking enough water to balance out those caffeinated drinks. You should drink at least 4 of those 32 oz glasses of water every day in addition to whatever you are already drinking.

The point is that I hardly ever drink caffeinated drinks (in fact, I've probably had 1 cup of caffeinated coffee in the last year). That's why my enzyme is low. I'm mostly a green tea drinker. Probably about a litre a day.
