The Partition of India was a ludicrous idea and the West is still paying for its colonial imposition on the Indian people.
The mere fact that so many Muslims and so many Hindus had to uproot themselves from their ancient homes and move to these new religious states was reason enough not to split India.
And Muslim Pakistan itself couldn't even hold onto Muslim Bangla Desh. Eastern Bangla Desh wanted no part of Pakistan in the west.
India should be one secular state. And it should be one state overall as it was centuries before colonialism.
