I just got the T-Mobile Internet device. After an hour on the phone with customer support, I had it working around 3PM yesterday.
So far, it's better than Cox Cable. But it hasn't been 24 hours yet.
Faster speeds, stronger signal, less equipment, and probably less electricity.
If I decide to get it, it's $100 less expensive a month.
It's all wireless. Less cable in my apartment. But possibly less dependable in bad weather.
What do you think?

Is this the wireless internet USB thing that you plug into your laptop?

Is this the wireless internet USB thing that you plug into your laptop? No. T-Mobile sent me something called a 5G Gateway. It's about the size of one of those liquid soap dispensers we see in many public bathrooms. It plugs into the wall, and that's it. No cables.

I thought the US was supposed to be a tech leader?

That's what I have. Bad weather won't affect it; it doesn't depend on satellite technology. Everything connects to the modem through WiFi technology, with adjunct devices (like printers) connecting via Bluetooth. Sounds like Cox is behind the times. I think bomtombadil just got T-Mobile, too. I think for him it came with free Paramount+. Did they offer that in your market? Beavis, Butthead and South Park, here you come.

That's the thing. I still have a wire into the TV (streams UHD films better) but everything else is wireless.

And they will increase my cellphone to 40gbyts of hotspot. (I already have unlimited talk, text, and data.)

This newest offer that you got is getting people to switch, like now. I hope the two-week trial shows you it's as good as it looks and you get to benefit from that good, good value. 🥂

Xfinity is what I have! It's a lot like your deal with T-Mobile; I get free Peacock, HBO Max et al, but no Paramount+. I want my MTV!! 🤣 Same refrain, decades later. I really just want the South Park offerings, would watch Beavis and Butthead do the Universe, as well.

Heck, just order Paramount+ watch the new South Park and B&B movies and then cancel it at the end of the month. I have Xfinity for internet and cable, but not mobile. They don't give me free HBO but I do get Peecock, so I guess you have to have the triple play or whatever snazzy package term they use.

I actually had Sprint for a couple years and then T-Mobile absorbed and digested them creating some sort of hybrid mutant 5G freak. I like it better than Verizon which I had prior for a few years.
