I don’t care what churches do inside their churches. The RCC still treats women like there is something wrong with them but that’s their business. But when it’s pushed onto the public…and in the US, Christianity is being written into the laws…then it needs to be put back in its place. Tax religion like everything else instead of putting its stamp on our money. These things are not the religion's fault. This is people misusing religion. Once again, that is like blaming the car because the driver is bad. The people are the religion. So it is the religion’s fault for having too many design flaws that have not been fully corrected.

God or Jesus never said for people to build a church and worship together with others. Form a heirochy, make rules, raise money and get involved in politics.

Without the religion, you’d never know God or Jesus existed. So the very thing they told their followers whatnot to do, they did anyway and you were born into that thing and believe as you do, more or less, because of it. You keep giving “religion” a place of honor other than any other belief system and we know those systems are responsible for their constituents’ behavior. God and Jesus’ story existed long before a religion was fashioned around it.

No. You are confusing religion with the church. Specifically the Catholic Church. What is the difference? Religion - the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. Church - a building used for public Christian worship. Religious activities generally need some infrastructure to be conducted. For this reason, there generally exist religion-supporting organizations, which are some form of organization that manage the upkeep of places of worship, such as mosques, churches, temples, synagogues, chapels and other buildings or meeting places.the payment of salaries to religious leaders, such as Roman Catholic priests, Hindu priests, Protestant ministers, imams and rabbis. In addition, such are organizations usually have other responsibilities, such as the formation, nomination or appointment of religious leaders, the establishment of a corpus of doctrine, the disciplining of leaders and followers with respect to religious law, and the determination of qualification for membership. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_organization

Gnosticism was effectively made heretical purely because it needed no churches or organised system of control, the story of religion is one of power over the masses. The fable around which it is based is largely secondary to the ability to enrich and empower it's leaders. Once a religion goes from the purely spiritual to the structural then it becomes irrevocably doomed by human failings and therefor worthless as an agency for spiritual enlightenment. As Lenny Bruce said, "I'm for God, just against religion"

Good luck attempting to get others converted to organized religion. It is dying hard. REPLY #1 I don't try to convert anybody. Not my obligation or responsibility. So why bother flaunting how religious you are?

Good luck attempting to get others converted to organized religion. It is dying hard. REPLY #2 About 85% of the world's people identify with a religion. The most popular religion is Christianity, followed by an estimated 2.38 billion people worldwide. Islam, which is practiced by more than 1.91 billion people, is second.worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/religion-by-countryYeah, it's really dying hard. Bogus, anecdotal statistics. There are 7.5 billion people on the planet. This is less than half and those that do believe, have had it conditioned onto them.

As Lenny Bruce said, "I'm for God, just against religion" Gnostics had churches and leaders. Here’s a pretty good site about it. gnosticismexplained.orgI don’t know a mechanism that causes anything “purely spiritual” to become an organized religion. The first Christians were coming from Temple Judaism and probably never thought they had a “religion.” No one did. The word itself only came into existence around 1500.

This started out as an amusing take on ignorance. What on Earth happened? An intelligent and interesting religious discussion?
