Absurdle 5/∞ qntm.org/files/absurdle/absurdle.html⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I dig it as a concept but I think it has a limited shelf-life for a player unless you randomize the first word. It's basically a game of trapping the potential answers into a corner and there's going to be a best set of words to do that with and a minimum amount of turns you can solve the puzzle in. As far as working towards the answer, you want to play it in the opposite way you'd play Wordle and the likes. You want to miss as many guesses using common English constructions as possible (like "ch", "ck", "cl", "sh", "-y", etc.), slowly dole out the vowels so it can't settle on one early, and keep as many early letters grey as you can, so it has limited words to choose from which can have similar constructions towards the end. In this case, my guesses were: SERIF DOWNY CLAMP LAUGH TUBAL But I'm sure it's possible to get it in even fewer guesses than that. Still fun, though.

Can you figure out how to get it in 4 moves? The lowest I can manage is 5.

You know it's not a daily, I assume? The answer shifts based on what you guess. The lowest I can manage is five guesses using various words.

I just play it daily as a round of all of games each day. What do you try to get first - vowels or consonants? I always go for the vowels so I start with IMAGE and LOUSY.

You want to eliminate vowels but you don't want to let it settle on one by trying to eliminate all vowels. You're more focused on blocking common word construction and greying out vowels a bit at a time; giving it room to find other words but then trapping it, as you said. There's an earlier post where I get it in five and I think that's as low as I can go off the top of my head. And I keep bringing up that I got it in five because I want to see if you can beat it, assuming it's even possible.
