Great bit of plastic soul, not a yank though.

Catchy tune. I can't personally relate to it in any way though.

I know, he was an explorer of the old west. The Country Bears at Disney World sing about "Davey, David Bowie, king of the wild frontier".

Ok, so I looked up David Bowie and Young Americans. Obviously he was not an explorer of the old west.
I cant say whether the song is accurate or not, I don't understand a damn word except "Young Americans" and "All right". Its just jibber jabber. He sounds like his jaw is wired shut.

Has one ever heard of websites that give you the lyrics? There is an element of gibberish to it, but there is also something there.

It's about the fleeting nature of youth along with some contemporary snapshots of American life.

That's even worse, I understand every word I just read but I still don't know WTF its about. Whats it about, FM? Tell me.

Well, um, I think it's about a young British girl getting pregnant to an American soldier. I think the same thing I think of everything I've ever heard by David Bowie, merely okay, not bad, but it has an overblown rep because some pretentious music snobs hand bullshit back and forth to each other, telling each other its great and believing its great because the other guy said it was.
