If how often you watch a film can be used to decide your favourite films, then here are my favourite films. I.e. the ones I put one most often.
1. The Fifth Element. 2. Payback. 3. Repo Man. 4. Strictly Ballroom 5. True Stories. 6. Alien.
If you'd asked me 30 years ago, I was repeatedly watching:
1. Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. 2. Goodfellas.
EDITED to add Strictly Ballroom (thanks, Jill).

And a marvellous soundtrack with arabic themes from director Luc Besson. Brilliant.

Didn't think that much of it, not a patch on "La Femme Nikita" or "Leon". Mind you, he's done nothing much since of note. "Valerian" was pretty but I gave up on it, will have to give it another go.

Eddie & The Cruisers I & II. I never get tired of watching those movies.
I also want to add
Hard Times (1975)
Donovan's Reef (1963)
I love it when the Australian sailors ditch the bitches for the beer. Free Beer.
Each one of those movies tells a story about people, places, times and events. Something that Hollywood doesn't know how to do anymore. We are now stuck with generic formula movies.

The Way What We Did on our Holidays The Tracker The Secret of Roan Inish The Commitments Blues Brothers

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? 2. The Thing. 3. Ghostbusters. 4. The Lord of the Rings trilogy. 5. Mad Max: Fury Road. 6. Total Recall. 7. The Long Good Friday. 20 years ago it would have been: 1. Pulp Fiction. 2. The Goonies.

I have movies I watch certain times of the year.
Bad Santa every December, No Country For Old Men in the spring, Full Metal Jacket in August and The Exorcist, American Werewolf in London in October.

My favorites seems to rotate in and out of favor.
Right now, I'm stuck on Shawshank Redemption, Aliens, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Who know in a few months?
