Where the fuck did this come from? Over the last few weeks I've been seeing these people, but previously never heard this complaint.

There are somewhat justifiably annoyed human artists and folks who are upset there are those who call themselves "AI artists". There is also at least one lawsuit against Midjourney creators for using someone else's works for "training" their system.

In one way it makes art more democratic because anyone can now produce a work of art by typing in a few words but I’ve seen at least one person saying they’ve lost work because of AI art. Many of the arguments against it (such as it only works through sampling pre-existing art) can also apply to music produced by Moby, although Moby does put work into other elements of his music and how the elements complement each other.
Is watching someone produce AI art as good as watching someone paint or draw?
:)

Wouldn't classicists have made the same complaints about "modern art" "The Haywain" against a Tracey Emin messy bed? Doesn't every new medium throw up new opportunities for art that previous generations will sneer at.

Could be.
Today it looks like a chap saying goodbye to his girl, but two hundred years ago The Black Brunswicker was considered incredibly daring

This isn't just a new medium though, you're not even creating art, just letting an artificial intelligence do it. I'm not arguing it's right or wrong, but you're not creating anything if a program does it for you.

Ever thought of a career in art criticism? How do you know I don't already have one? There is something of the Brian Sewell about you, was he your mentor.
