The perils of being a single diver - if a pair come along, they bump you in favour of them.
Anyway, booked a different one. Sleeping arrangements are.... a mattress and a pillow on the deck. Should be an adventure, that's for sure.

2nd dive boat can't confirm because they don't have enough bookings to ensure the trip is going ahead. My arse. What they mean is that they'll keep me waiting to see if a pair come along. Like I said, the perils of single diving. Anyway, I found a different boat which has single cabins. They won't cancel on me. Looks nice, huh?

I've never been on a proper sail boat for diving. Always been modern metal stuff. Went on a catamaran with sails once - that was nice.

Our instructors were adamant about never diving alone. Can't the dive operator/service pair single divers up? It is a safety issue. Possibly a liability one also. Are there ways to pair up? Are you diving in England or elsewhere?

Are you diving in England or elsewhere? It's an interesting thought, thanks - I could join a dive club here and see if anyone wants to go. I don't think it's a danger/liability concern, otherwise they wouldn't advertise single bookings - they would limit it to minimum of two people. I don't dive in England - too cold!
