When I was in high school I remember a lot of older people complaining how they couldn't find a pay phone because everyone had these flip phones.
Now flip phones are ancient history, teens today probably don't even remember ever seeing one.
I take that as a sign I'm getting old.

That's what I've got - it's great. They’re outside my spending limit when it comes to phones but my younger brother’s got one. Because of his learning disabilities we’ve kept his phone simple and he had a non-smart flip phone for years but then had some money to spend. He ended up getting the Galaxy flip phone and at first found it too complicated but now he spends hours watching train videos on YouTube and checking on the weather. He still longs for the days of public phone boxes though. |

That's what I've got - it's great. I knew the flat cell phone would eventually die out. It's just not practical to carry in your pocket. Plus there's always the pocket dialing phenomena. I hate that. The new larger flip phone is the wave of the future. |

That's what I've got - it's great. I knew the flat cell phone would eventually die out. It's just not practical to carry in your pocket. Plus there's always the pocket dialing phenomena. I hate that. The new larger flip phone is the wave of the future. That was exactly why I got it - so it would fit easily into the chest pocket of my jacket. Other than that, it's the same as any other phone. But for that, it's great - no more big lump of crap in your jeans pocket that you have to take out every time you sit down. |

I'll wait for the sub £200 Motorola version. They make cracking phones at budget prices and I've never cared about being an "early adopter", as you pay through the nose for something that is out of date before you know it.

My first mobile was a Motorola Razr. It had extremely poor storage and a very basic camera but it got me into digital photography.

Also, it seems to me, that when we Gen X guys were young it was deemed a sign of weakness for a man to be on the phone all the time. Girls loved yacking on the phone. And you were always trying to get off the phone when your girlfriend called and she would keep prattling on forever. Now these young guys are as bad as women when it comes to having a phone attached to their ear. |
