International law? Yeah right - they are already in huge breach of it. chinese dictatorship law, more like.
The most openly chilling statement about their intent for the future yet, I would say.
And we are funding it.

And we are funding it. All talk. The important thing to remember is that China needs the West as much as the West needs them, why do you think they've sat on the fence rather than support Russia with words and firepower? The peace plan they will push will allow Russia to remain in Ukraine under a cease fire which will allow Russia to keep certain areas that are part of sovereign Ukraine, can't see Ukraine going long with more theft after Crimea.

Yes, building the military bases in the Spratlys is just talk. Building air craft carriers is just talk. Oppression in Hong Kong is just talk. One million in labour camps is just talk. Thank you, Mr. Chamberlain.

China making moves to establish themselves as world player. As the US hegemony is perceived to be declining, China attempts to fill the role of promoter of peace. This last deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia is part of that.
Of course the US foreign policy has been a complete disaster. During the Cold War, the US attempted to exploit the rift between Moscow and Beijing and ended up having better relations with the Soviet Union and China than they had between each other.
The current foreign policy of the US has basically pushed Russia and China into each other's arms.
You know, Kissinger might be a monster, but he was miles ahead more competent than people running the show now.

Thank you, Mr. Chamberlain. We are referring to the "stand guard over world" remark, nothing else. Keep your knickers on. America sees itself as the world police anyway, just someone else saying the same arrogant bollox. As I say, China is reliant on the West, I think other countries build aircraft carriers to FWIW. You anti Chinese rhetoric would be much more believable if you hadn't repeatedly stated that nothing they do is as important to you as Brexit and arguing repeatedly that they weren't engaged in attempted genocide of the Uygher people. China are going through a dangerous phase with a leader extending his ability to remain in power and as you say, strengthening their grip on disputed waters, their reliance on the West though gives great soft power over their moves.

Trump was trying to follow Kissinger's policy of preventing a Russia-China alliance by friendly relations with the weaker of the two powers. Americans, foolishly stuck in pointless partisan wars, attacked Trump saying he was a puppet of Putin and undid exactly what US foreign policy had tried to do for five decades. China is the only real threat to the US, and Russia is the key to corralling China.

It's always been a one world government. They just like to fool the dumb people by pretending to fight to prevent such a cause.

China is the only real threat to the US, and Russia is the key to corralling China. Trump might said some friendly words about Russia. Policy wise, his administration was very anti Russia. They started sending lethal weapons to Ukraine, a reversal of Obama era policies and was pushing for increase military spending from NATO, while attacking Nord Stream pipelines for making Germany dependent on Russia. He attacked Putin's ally in Syria directly and suggested withdrawing American troops from Germany and put them closer to Russia.

It's all talk.

"Change is coming that hasn't happened in 100 years. And we are driving this change together," Xi told Putin via his interpreter. It's all talk. Again, misrepresenting purposely what I said which was about one single statement. However, it's obvious that the world order will change, it has all through history, it would be astonishing were it not to do so again. There's an interesting argument to be had on why it will happen, the likelihood is that eventually it will be down to China taking the West's addiction to Capitalism and through being able to do that linked with very little human rights legislation being able to be the only "Hyperpower". Our addiction to cheap Chinese goods for personal and business use has destroyed much self sufficiency that we are seemingly far to happy to accept. Russia will eventually be a kind of puppet State to China as the UK largely is to the US. Although the very idea is loathed by many, a very strong United States Of Europe may well become a necessity in future especially given the quite likely descent of the US into isolationism and fracture.
