I only cook in ceramic, stainless steel or cast iron now.

I use my grandmother's cast iron cookware, which is probably pushing 80 years old now and still in perfect condition. Nothing sticks to it, it cooks more evenly, and I love the history. I've had regular nonstick pans in the past, but I never liked them. Like you said, food sticks to it and the coating breaks down, and then you have to throw them away. There is a bit of a learning curve with cast iron, but once you get on to it, it's really nice. Genuinely nonstick, no chemicals, and with proper care it will last for generations.

Does anyone use Revere Ware? Stainless steel with copper-clad bottoms. We bought a set over 30 years ago and use nothing else.
The daughter and SIL are devoted foodies and have their own preferences. The 20-year-old granddaughter has always been exposed to serious food prep and cooking. She wants our Revere Ware when we no longer need it.
I have a lot of kitchen ware which came from both of my grandmothers. It warms my heart that our girl wants the most highly prized gear from our kitchen.
