Mariners sweep the Astros, now 1/2 game back of them for 2nd place. Giants avoid a sweep by the Braves. Yankees swept by Red Sox, now 9 back of the WC. Prince Hal Steinbrenner said, back in June, that big changes would take place if the Yanks missed the playoffs. Guess what, the will.
