Braves look legit. Yes they are off to a great start - they have an excellent lineup. Bravos plays the Padres in ATL starting tonight.

Phils, Giants, and Yankees have only played interleague games.
17 teams have played none.
AL is 13-10 vs NL.
Giants are the only team not to face a left-handed starter.

Red Sox have allowed 14 stolen bases on 14 attempts.
Astros 2nd with 9 allowed.
50 years ago today, Ron Blomberg took the first AB as a DH on Opening Day in Boston. “I saw my name with ‘DH’ next to it and I still wasn’t really sure what it was. Mel Stottlemyre, who was pitching that day, said, ‘How in the world are you hitting for me?’ I said, ‘I don’t know.’" Graig Nettles walked with 2 out in the first to load the bases. Blomberg walked to drive in a run. Had Nettles not gotten on, Orlando Cepeda would have been first to DH, in the bottom of the inning.
“Who knew the DH was going to last 50 years?I never thought it was gonna last three months. I looked at it as being a pinch-hitter. A lot of us were waiting for baseball to get rid of it, probably for about five years. Every single year, people would talk about getting rid of it because the National League wasn’t using it. The DH position changed the whole game and it still took almost 50 years for the NL to adopt it. Some people still hate it, but I think it’s great. Whether it’s Derek Jeter or Aaron Judge or any guy coming back from injury, all great players have been a DH at some point. Pitchers hitting has become an obsolete thing. I remember being at Yankee Stadium and seeing Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio throwing out the first pitch and thinking how cool that would be. I never reached the level they did, obviously, but I’m very proud of this and that people still remember me.”

Sale did settle down (after I fell asleep on the couch). 5 ip, 4 h, 3 er, 7 k, 3 bb. Sale gets his first win since the Nixon Administration. I don't think he going to get Cy Young votes but if he goes 9-9 or 10-10, it might be helpful.
The Red Sox starting pitching is, overall a joke. Management spent fuck all to fix a shitty 2022 rotation. Oh sorry, thee signed Corey Kluber. He's been a catastrophe. Memo to the Red Sox front office, it's not 2018. It's going to be another long season

Bravos beat the Padres on a walkoff hit by Arcia in their home opener!! Great start to the season for the Bravos!! Probably the best lineup 1-9 in the majors. A ridiculously deep rotation, seven quality starters, even with Mike Sorotka and Max Fried on the DL. If they can stay clear of injuries, they could go all the way, despite playing in the brutal NL East. Having 6-7 good starting pitchers (another rookie, 2020 1st round pick Jared Schuster gets his 2nd start tonight) gives the Braves awesome trade chips if they do suffer key injuries, need bullpen help or just need depth.
This Braves- Padres series could be a NLCS preview

Mets home opener this afternoon. Klaw should be giddy. He said he would hold up a IMDb Sports Board sign. I'll believe it when I see it.
Damn, Ron Darling hates the pitch clock. He bitches about it constantly. I love the Mets announcing team, Darling, Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez.

Ohtani's gotten violations as both a pitcher and batter.

Ohtani's gotten violations as both a pitcher and batter. There's going to be a lot of adjustments for both batters and pitchers.
Some announcing team brought up an interesting idea. Will the pitch clock give an advantage to rookie pitchers? They dealt with it last year. It won't turn Sid Squid into Sandy Koufax but it's an advantage
