Titans now have a 6-5 record at Brookvale after hammering Manly. I think they are a good side this year. I'll give them a Mulligan on last week's collapse. If they can win at home 70% of the time they'll play finals this year.

2 AFL games were stinkers. Melbourne beat North by 90. Carlton beat West Coast by 108.

Crows butchered a win with poor kicking in spite of leading the entire game apart from about 20s at the start and about the same at the finish against Collingwood. Pies go top but I wish they'd start getting some comfortable wins instead of coming from behind every week. They weren't able to sustain it in finals last year and they won't this year either.
Followed another disappointing Dragons loss in a highly winnable game.
Only a significant drop off late in the season is going to stop the Cats going back to back after they easily accounted for Essendon. Richmond had another shocker losing comfortably to GC17 at Marvel.
Roosters beat Warriors away and hosko yawned.

Tasmania to get AFL team in 2028. Was the main headline on the Melbourne radio station I’m listening to.
That’ll mean 19 teams in the ladder.

Tasmania to get AFL team in 2028. Was the main headline on the Melbourne radio station I’m listening to. That’ll mean 19 teams in the ladder. About bloody time. The funny thing that pushed them in that direction in the end was Tasmania getting an NBL basketball team. NBL's, at best, 6th or 7th in the pecking order but is big in Perth and Tassie (their only professional team apart from the BBL). Albo was there earlier in the week pledging $240m towards the new stadium. The typical idiots were complaining that it's money that can be better spent, apparently unaware that $240m really can't do that much and schools and hospitals are not a federal government responsibility.

Now that Tasmania is confirmed - the club colours and emblem are to be decided.
Whatever it takes, do the deal with Warner Bros. and get the license to use the Devils name. The club colours simply have to be Green with Gold and White. IMHO.

I like Islanders. Comes from former Premier Peter Gutwein's quote about "defending the island." If they can't get Devils I think it works quite well.
And green and yellow should be a no brainer for colours maybe with a dash of red for the apple isle.

I take it Hobart is a shoo in for the home ground.
I’m going to campaign for Launceston!

I take it Hobart is a shoo in for the home ground. I’m going to campaign for Launceston! Hawthorn currently play 4-5 games at Launceston every year, but I can't see that continuing if they have a brand new custom built stadium in Hobart. They'll want as many games there as possible to justify the likely cost blow out. Interesting debate about whether the stadium should have a roof. Cricket is the issue moreso than cost. Roofed grounds retractable or not, can't host first class games including test matches, though they can play BBL games there. Anyway,I'm happy with the news. I just hope they invest in proper training facilities as well. They rushed GWS and GC17 and they were training out of demountables. Gold Coast didn't even have their stadium built in time for their debut.
