Sharks punish a wayward and error riddled Knights 26-6. Doggies beat Adelaide in the AFL by 7 goals. Halftime at Leichhardt - and my decision to not jinx my Tigers with my attendance is paying off, with the home side leading the Cowboys 24-6. And approaching 3/4 time in the west, Freo up by 22 on the Cats… More like hit the jackpot 66-18. Looks like your boys might make some noise in the second half of the year and the 5 year plan not looking so fanciful right now.

Dreamtime at the G was actually a great game. Bombers kicking the winning goal in the last 20s to get up by a point. Collingwood had a comfortable win over Carlton. West Coast's self inflicted woes continued with a 116 point loss to Hawthorn and GWS put up a hella fight against St Kilda before losing by 12.
In the NRL, Melbourne toughed out a 24-16 win over Redcliffe in Brisvegas, Titans had a very disappointing 2 point loss to the struggling Bulldogs and Manly snapped Canberra's winning streak very easily winning 42-14.

Damien Hardwuck expected to resign tomorrow. Probably turned on Best on Ground after Saturday night's loss, saw Nathan Buckley and thought "He's having lots of fun and shagging a different 20 something gymnast every other month. Retirement looks pretty good."
Leaves Richmond needing to decide very quickly if they're going to blow the place up and go for the full rebuild (that would be my option) or whether they're going to try to replenish without losing ground (which has worked with Sydney and Geelong traditionally).
Hardwick coached Richmond for 305 games (169-6-130) over 13 1/2 seasons starting in 2010, winning 3 premierships. This leaves Sydney's John Longmire and Geelong's Chris Scott as the longest tenured current coaches in the AFL, both having taken their jobs at the start of 2011.

He's been with the club masseuse, a fitness trainer, some influencer chick who was into yoga and now a gymnast. Should have also mentioned Sandy Roberts, who's been diagnosed with myeloma, an incurable type of blood cancer. Treatable, not curable, similar to Bruce.

3 major upsets in the AFL so far today. Hawthorn beat St Kilda. Freo beat the Dee's at the G and GWS beat Geelong at Kardinia Park.
Broncos about to beat the Warriors pretty comfortably. Parra and the Dolphins did what they needed to in the Friday and Thursday games respectively.

GC17 keep the upsets coming with a win over the Bulldogs in Darwin.

And how about Adelaide rolling Brisbane? Collingwood and Port creating some clear separation as the top 2 now with Brisbane right in the sweet spot. Melbourne having big issues beating good teams just as they had last year.
Knights did what they needed to do. Real nothing round in the NRL. SoO scheduling always seems to stop the season dead for a month and a half. Not saying there's a better way of doing it,

Some good sports news: Kellie Finlayson's cancer has grown small enough her oncologist believes there's a genuine chance that subsequent rounds of chemo could eliminate it. Her cancer is still classed as terminal but she's in the game.
She was on The Project on Monday (yes, that show still exists). Very brave woman. If this isn't Collingwood's year I'm barracking for Port, Jeremy and Kellie.

The Bob jinx continues, this time at Campbelltown.
Really thought he had that one won.
I really hate that late penalty. It’s not dangerous contact. Fogarty barely fell over. There has to be some leeway regarding Chargedowns. Had that been 40m out on a basic downtown - no chance of a penalty

Back when Parra were a disappointing pre season premiership favourite and North Queensland were terrible (very different from today.. ). Cowboys controlled the whole game and took the lead with a late field goal which the Hapless Nathan Hindmarsh had accidentally batted over. With about twenty seconds to go ref blew a penalty against the Cowboys for a play the ball infringement. Brett Hodgson slotted the penalty after the siren. Parra won. Final score: 20-19.

Not much to write home about in the NRL today as we're in the middle of the season "let's try to cobble some games together during origin" 2 month stretch.
In the AFL the top 2 had comfortable wins against lowly opponents, GC17 came from 28 behind to beat Adelaide in Darwin and the Cats also came from behind to beat the Bulldogs.

Tigers lose again - and lose their 7 and 9 for a while too in a bad night on the Goldie for Wests.
Saints win, but not Hoskos saints the St Kilda kind against the Swans in the AFL.
