Should you be surprised? If you're going to allow rainbow flags, drag queens and celebrate black history month in "public" schools, then you're going to get this pushback. Either all in or nothing. What pushback? I daresay at one time most American classrooms had the Christian version of the Ten Commandments posted. I’m pretty sure we did. Not anyone we knew was abiding by it. Probably there still are but maybe an atheist or abolitionist parent objected to religious laws about how to treat a slave in order to please God being forced into the classroom.

They can't ever see it. They can't see it is the same as the Sharia law they wave around as a boogieman. Is it? Sharia law calls for thieves to have their hands cut off, unfaithful women to be stoned to death, and gays to be pushed off rooftops. I'm not reading any of this in the Ten Commandments.

The graphic is incorrect. Covet is supposed to be only one commandment, and shall not make idol is missing. Complain to google. And where are the original tablets Moses supposedly brought down, we can go to the original God-burnt in stone letters if we need to. Do you honestly believe this world changing historical event really happened? And you know this means the Koran lovers get to plastered their shit on the same walls. They believe in 10 Commandments too, by the way.

The graphic is incorrect. Covet is supposed to be only one commandment, and shall not make idol is missing. In Lutherism, they are separated to make commandments 9 and 10. The "no idols" is combined with the first commandment. It's still wrong with how it's worded though.

The Old Testament of the Bible condones slavery and rape and mass murder. And just to be clear the issue is that having the Ten Commandments in a classroom is a violation of the 1st Amendment - it’s the government endorsing and supporting a religion. It’s not about whether it’s as bad as Sharia Law - it’s clear that introducing religion into schools is part of the right wing’s plan to turn America into a theocracy though.

Moses brought down 600+ Commandments equal to the Ten. Pick out your stone. In regards to #4, the Law goes on to say: “ If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid” (Deuteronomy 21:18–21). Over half the people on this board should be stone to death.

Yeah, and Christianity had a reformation when Jesus came and made it much more peaceful. Islam similarly had a reformation, but it instead became more violent and continues to condone rape and mass murder. And I'm not for displaying them in class, to be clear. But to pretend that it's as bad as sharia law is laughable. I don't see Christians enforcing hijabs or pushing gays off rooftops.

All you have to do is teach what the men who have controlled and those whom they controlled others in our society wrote themselves. Maybe we should leave it that. It’s far more damning to read their thoughts on the subject than bunch of dates and battles. There is not only what the plantation class wrote about themselves, but actual recordings of ex-slaves telling us what slavery was like for them. I can attest to the Jim Crow era myself. Teaching the simple facts is a lot easier than maintaining your Lost Cause myth and a better-than-thou pioneer historical identity.

Correct. And he had way more than Ten Commandments, but the Christians cut all of them out except that for ten.

It’s the Illuminati who want the Noahide commandments in Texas schools.
