OT: The new first world annoyances thread

My dad spent most of his career working for a major cell phone carrier in one of their corporate offices.

Until he retired a few years ago, he'd tell me about how theft of food in the fridges was extremely common and a regular problem. Doesn't matter what they did as a company to try and stop it, people would still do it.

The kicker was that the vast majority of people were making well into 6 figures at this office.

Apparently it doesn't matter how much you make. There are always going to be cheap bastards out there trying to steal your lunch

I need to vent this out because I find this not only hilarious but also tiresome. I work in food service that revolves around speaking with customers all day long, and it does get draining when dealing with dumb ass people. What I hate most, however, is customers that do not leave when you politely ask them to leave when it’s closing time already. This is how yesterday went down:

Stores closes at 10 pm, I let customers stay 10 minutes in. After those ten minutes, I offer that they can eat outside our benches while I clean the inside. They do not budge after five minutes. I’m cussing under my breath, connect my phone to the speakers that play music throughout the day, and blast the loudest death metal I could find. Customers then begin to leave as I enjoy the sweet gift that is death metal. I’ve had a group of people telling me if I could turn it down cause it’s too loud. My response: No, we’re closed.

A customer told a new coworker of mine, “This is a really great way to get people out your store.” His response: “Yup!”

Unprofessional? Maybe. Will I get in trouble? Maybe. Hilarious? Absolutely. I am tired of customers that do not understand what closing time is! It makes my blood boil just thinking about it. Thank you to the genre that is Death Metal that is daily growing on me. It’s pretty good! And the biggest middle finger to those entitled fuckers that overstay their welcome.
