Cats who expect you to walk around them. It is their house. The world exists for them. Accept your place in the world.

Have you all noticed that Youtube took away "remove from playlist"?
It's been replaced with "Hide from mix".
What this means is the song that is hidden from the mix and will keep popping up over and over even as you continue to wish "remove from playlist" was still an option.

Isn't that the joke? Dogs have masters, cats have slaves?

That is the difference between cat owners & dog owners. We joke about being catslaves while you all seem to feel cats are evil incarnate. Cats don't have packs so they don't have a pecking order. They are roommates. Mine do a "who can be closer to the lady" where one sleeps at the end of my bed so the other sleeps by my knee.

OK..........if you feel that houseguests are 'evil incarnate'.

OK..........if you feel that houseguests are 'evil incarnate'. I have seen that belief about when the mother-in-law visits. Particularly on sitcoms. How are they guests when they live there permanently? Not you with your dog lover attitude. Of course. Have you ever owned a cat in your adult life?

Nope. My wife had one before we hooked up. We had them as kids, farm cats really.
And some good friends have several.
The 'house guest' reference is to how they kinda behave. Like you've said, they're not really 'pack' animals.

i was at a client site yesterday for 2 hours (including a 30 minute hold time with comcast) because comcast couldn't get their new modem activated. they finally said "it'll be ready by 9pm."
the person was super nice but just had no idea why it wasn't working on her end.
she tried to escalate me to tier 2 but no answer and then to her supervisor, no answer.
that's she she said she opened a ticket and all would be well by 9pm.
i call this morning and still no internet at the customer site.
i go there and again am on hold again for 30 minutes but i got a tech who was able to get eventually the modem activated.
they apologized and admitted there was a lack of manpower on the tech support end AND the activation servers were down last night and...no one was available to repair them in a timely manner.
[sad2]

[sad2] They are beginning to admit the mass retirements impacted hard. Between Covid deaths & disabilities(long covid) & the retirements, plus the crackdown on immigration, you wonder at the lack of workers?

IMHO mass immigration isn't the cure. =/ Better pay so people feel appreciated/less burnout so they don't want to retire early? All the money going to the managers isn't good. LIke the cable guy who came to my place-double booked for all his appointments. No wonder they are infamous for poor service appointments Some pencil pusher deciding efficiency that each job should last so many minutes not recognizing running into problems matter.
