Darkramj, although using more polite wording, continues the disingenuous tactics of his last message. He continues to misrepresent what I had written, picking just enough from what I wrote (though out of context) to fool the unwary into thinking he is answering me. I would advise anyone who feels tempted to believe him to read my posts, then compare them to his responses.

Prove the superiority of your approach by responding with infallible empathy.
Unfortunately, you have misread me as well. I'm a huge fan of empathy in society. But being a huge fan of it doesn't change the fact that empathy, by itself, cannot be eaten, cannot be drunk, cannot shelter a body from the elements nor mitigate perpetual threats. It cannot replace these things or the need for them...only help contribute to their production and distribution.
You recognize this fact in your pledge nowhere, and scarcity is immune to empathy.

Darkramj continues to bait me and now claims I “misread” him. (Note that, unlike him, I am taking fairly long quotes from his replies and my counter-replies to back up my interpretation.)
On 5/1, 12:12, Darkramj wrote:
My reply asserts…
I later write,
His next post comments:
But also asks:
It demands I choose between some kind of moral code of perfection that I never endorsed and his moral relativism, then comments:
My reply concludes from all these comments that he believes “that societies that value empathy, even when balanced by emotional management and critical thinking, are doomed.”
Now he is backpedaling on his baldly-stated disparagement of empathy, claiming to be “a huge fan of empathy in society.” For this alone one should gather he cannot be trusted. Note also how often he has to ignore that I am using the word, “growth” (The pledge alone uses a variant of the word three times, long before I write the above-bolded quote about how we use precedents) His repeated misinterpretation of my work as a call for perfecting humanity, while himself disparaging empathy and identifying some people as wrong/too inferior for society to tolerate, thus smacks of projection.

Good luck with your alternative model.
