Either Skarsgard is rumored to be in consideration for Lex Luthor.

Meh. I posted this elsewhere but Superman is always cast based on a very narrow idea what execs think he’s supposed to look like. And that look is based not on the comics but on past tv shows and movies. Boring choice.

I kinda like it, though I’ll admit it’s really a sitcom with superhero interruptions. But anyway I think its Superman, Dean Cain, doesn’t look all that much like that conception of Supes—of the Supermen before him, Cain looks the most like George Reeves. (Cain’s performance, though, pales compared with Teri Hatcher’s fun take on Lois.)

Looking up a pic of him he does actually look a lot more like how I’d imagine a live action Superman to look based on the comic imagery. He seems to have the burliness that Cavil and especially this new guy lack.

He seems to have the burliness that Cavil and especially this new guy lack. To my frustration and disappointment, I was unable to find a pic of Christopher Reeve in his pre-Supes days, but I remember seeing film of him when he was being interviewed shortly after being cast in Superman: The Movie, and he was skinny. So give "this new guy" some time. I just read that the probable release date for Superman: The Legacy won't be until July 2025. That gives David Corenswet (I know, I know--that name doesn't exactly inspire one with confidence ) two years to buff up --and don't forget the wonders of CGI! One more point: if you believe looks are important in casting The Man of Tomorrow (no kidding--that was one of his nicknames in the early comics), DC--great initials, at least--has blue eyes and brown hair (that can easily be darkened to black)...AAANNDD he also happens to be 6'4". One complaint about Henry Cavill (whose take on Supes I liked very, very much, sigh) has been that his height is "only" 6'1". Bottom line: let's give ol' DC a chance, shall we?

Not sure what you mean by that, but each Superman actor has looked like the comics version, this might be a really boring response to your post but that's because there's really not much to add. You can't bring to life a comic book character from the pages you know that right?

Henry Cavill isn't burly? No. Do they not have glasses in a galaxy far far away?

Do they not have glasses in a galaxy far far away? Cavil is beefy, not burly. What’s the difference? Well, I’ll tell ya: its the same as the difference between bulky and brawny.
