I don`t have one favorite decade, also the world did not start in 1900. I just included the centuries that everybody on this board lived in.

I had long hair up to 1976 and then in the 80's I did have a rat's tail for a year a la Tom Bailey of The Thompson Twins. I am not proud but everyone is allowed one shit hair style in their lives. Never had platforms but used to wear "wedges" around 1972. Went with the serious flares and 3 button waist. I had a crush on him in junior high when I finally first saw the video for "Hold Me Now"! Oh my gosh... rat's tail. It's probably Bailey's doing that it caught on here for a minute. Did you braid it? That seemed part of it. So great. Nostalgia's the best. Congrats on your blue stars!! 🎉🎊🥳💃 Braid it? No, I went from an Anarcho Punk white rasta look (suppose they'd call that cultural appropriation now) to cutting it all off and just keeping a rat's tail. Fuck knows why. Probably changed drugs and it made sense at the time. I didn't get it from the Thompson Twins as I had my hair cut nicely for my wedding in the earlyish 80's before they were big I think. Then it started going thin and the second I noticed that I shaved my head and have done since. Much easier. No idea what "blue stars" means.

Your global mod stars above your avatar, they're blue. 🏅 Lol. Drugs are bad, mmmkay. I think you may have posted that meme to me not so long ago. We are kindred. I thought maybe the rat's tail itself was braided; I think that's how guys did it here. Yeah, pop rock bands from then never seemed to be on the cutting edge. They were similar to how Queens NY used to be -- always a decade or so behind. .. until a lot of Queens got too expensive to house anyone who would be out of fashion. Good for you for shaving it off before it went too far. Someone needs to tell tragic Prince 'Arry the secret of some good electric clippers and a razor. 🪒

The 80s, because the future was so bright, we had to wear shades.

I don`t have one favorite decade, also the world did not start in 1900. Quite true, the 1890's were a blast. The fin de siécle and the rise of all the "decadents". Would love to have been around then having absinthe with Crowley, Wilde, Dowson, Beardsley and co.

There's something to love about all of them. Even the 2020s? Nah. Total dystopian future. AI and killer viruses.

The 1920s sound pretty neat. Would love to go back and party then- Jack Torrance style.

And the kicky platform boots and rock band hair you had... Where's that thread? That was fun. There was some band whose lead singer copied your hair! 😉 I had long hair up to 1976 and then in the 80's I did have a rat's tail for a year a la Tom Bailey of The Thompson Twins. I am not proud but everyone is allowed one shit hair style in their lives. Never had platforms but used to wear "wedges" around 1972. Went with the serious flares and 3 button waist. I modelled my hair on David Bowie (I took the cover of Rare to the hairdresser and asked for this: images.app.goo.gl/PNRuo1NMVwyttfmw7And then.... George Michael. Blond highlights, shoulder length, sun tan and gold hoop earring.

I think most will answer it with the decade they were around 16 to 20. First experiences of parties, booze, sex etc.
However, for music, I have recently shifted my favourite from the 80s to the 70s. Especially 77 - 79. The variety is phenomenal - rock, punk, disco, mod, ska, electronic. And all band-driven. It all turned to shit in 1984 when the age of the producer started.

The 90s. It felt as if ideological strife had ended and future would actually be good.

Only Bowie could look cooler than fuck in a mug shot.
