Spiderwort's thread "Movies You Start and Can't Finish" got me to thinking about those movies you start or come into late and must finish. They may show up on cable or will catch your eyes while perusing your DVD shelves and you snatch up the disc like Dr. Jekyll clutching The Formula. So, five off the top of my head: Superb chemistry between Morita and Macchio and a compelling (if manipulative) script. I wish I could coin a whole lotta new adjectives to describe this classic. Got to fudge the "must finish" a bit here. I usually watch each episode on successive days, but there was one cold, rainy day when I loaded up on goodies and sailed through the entire series in a single afternoon. Brilliant, opulent and never less than engrossing, despite its nearly three-hour length Big fan of Russell Crowe and Zenee Zellweger. I'm not big on sports films, but this is one of the best and is #1 on my list.
