From some high school english literature curriculums. Ironic as John Steinbeck pretty much tells us that life often can suck no matter what we do. *upon further research, it seems the book is also banned in the state of texas... Who's calling for it to be banned?
If it's some stupid Black activist group or some stupid Black Irish girl Until and when they do something about the overuse of the N word in rap music they, and that little Black girl in Ireland, can go fuck themselves.

So unless every story has a 'Disney ending' and it all works out like peaches n cream........it's derogatory?
The snowflakes really do not like reality.
The "news" has actual trigger warnings for when they talk about death.

All of these Black whiners activist should complain about the overuse of the N word in rap music. If you're gonna complain about the use of a word ------------------- be consistent.

Funny how all these recommendations for banning books come from just 11 people. Most of whom are associated with the Proud Boys and or Moms For Liberty.

LMAOSNOWPLOUGH! Wilbur is coming for your soul! Righties: so entertaining sometimes. from hereCharlotte's Web was removed from lots of schools' teaching plans when I was in elementary school which was in the 1980s. I think back then they cited Satanism, regarding the talking animals. I like LMAOSNOWPLOUGH, it reminds me of ROFLCOPTER. All Hanna-Barbera and Disney cartoons should have been banned as well for its anti-Christ stances.

What are they saying it is "insensitive" to ? Black people. I'll post the article in a bit. I'm surprised. I thought it would be handicapped since Lennie is retarded.

Hang on, you quote the UK as the source of the ban when it isn't, and say at least the US isn't banning it when it is. Okay, this is all kinds of messed up!

I only saw the title of the article pop up on my phone and saw the offensive to black people and English literature classes. I've since edited my OP.

And regardless of the oriinal op, further investigation does show it is and has been banned before in the U.S. Apparently not so we know about it.

Sad when I really think about it. It really was one of the books that shaped how I think about life and death and acceptance. Interesting. My childhood learning was Cannery Row. It showed me that intellect coexists with every other human condition, and the most important thing is acceptance and community.

Of Mice and Men has so many emotions in it - good ones and depressing ones. Men who meet George really relate to him and bond with him unless they’re like Curley.
Lennie loves soft things more than anything and kills them without meaning to do it. George cares so much for him but what can he do.
Every character has major feelings going on and they include hope of a homestead and then despair when it’s impossible. Lennie still knows how to have a happy moment with the hope and dream - and dies smiling.
It’s pretty heavy. I think it shows the drastic feelings going on in the Depression where time didn’t just drift by.
