Quick! Quick! Throw money at it! The battle cry of the liberal.
Maybe if people would learn to take care of themselves without depending on the government....

Quick! Quick! Throw money at it!The battle cry of the liberal. Maybe if people would learn to take care of themselves without depending on the government.... That is impossible, nobody can ever gain enough of the right kind of knowledge to be able to put themselves in a position to where they never have to rely on anyone else. I would know because I have tried... Now that I have gained the knowledge and the wisdom that goes with it I now know that it would be a futile waste of effort, given the complexity of modern society. The only reason why dirt villages in third world nations get by without government is because they are very small groups of people banded together who live very primitive lives, and when they develop health problems they die at a very young age. The romanticized world of Tarzan the ape man may have universal appeal to mavericks and other Republicans. But Tarzan is a fantasy construct that could never work in real life. No man is an island unto himself... In order to survive in this world it is necessary to live by the rules of the social contract which includes laws, regulations, and government. There is no getting around that ever.

Quick! Quick! Throw money at it!The battle cry of the liberal. Maybe if people would learn to take care of themselves without depending on the government.... The people are not killing themselves. The hospitals, doctors and nurses are killing them. If you read the articles, the United States spends more on pediatric care than any other country. So it is not a matter of money.

Newborn and infant mortality is low in the United States. It is the mothers that are dying more here than in other countries.

It's strange that those who are happy with this state of affairs are the ones who supposedly value human life so much.

“Developed” is just your racist dog whistle for how white a country is. What’s the maternity death rate in Mexico?

You’re the one who blamed this on Republicans, specifically for not giving enough free money to Big Pharma.

No, I blamed it on the Republicans for not supporting Universal Health Care. One of the reasons mother are dying during and after birth is the fragmented health care system. One of the reasons mothers are not dying in other countries is they have a universal health care system. Everybody gets equal treatment. Good health care is the goal. Not making the most money.

Quick! Quick! Throw money at it!The battle cry of the liberal. Maybe if people would learn to take care of themselves without depending on the government.... That's A) impractical and B) trying to fix a barn by setting it on fire. The fact you're willing to turn infant mortality into some kind of argument for libertarian ideas says a lot about you, mainly that you're a scumbag.

Quick! Quick! Throw money at it!The battle cry of the liberal. Maybe if people would learn to take care of themselves without depending on the government.... No, that is what stupid rich Republicans do, always thinking that a solution can be bought with money. However it is understandable since those rich fat cat Republicans have never done a lick of work in their entire lives. So why would they ever come to the conclusion that a solution is arrived at by thinking of one. So lets start in with the stupid ass Republican rule that if both the mother and baby are jeopardized by pregnancy complications then let the mother die to save the baby. And that right there is how and why so many mothers end up dying in hospitals due to treatable complications.
