They’re not all bad, but the ones that are it’s because of broken promises, feelings of being used or neglected, and radicalization by charismatic leaders. I’m sure it works for this show, but inconsistencies like this annoy me in the MCU. We left off with them looking for a new world and Carol promising to help them. But instead of continuing that story they adapt this to have their cake and eat it too. And based on the leaked plot it seems The Marvels will ignore BOTH these threads. Reminds me of how Wandavision and Dr Strange 2 had wildly different ideas of what to do with Wanda. I don’t see it as inconsistent. It’s been about 30 yrs since the Skrulls first showed up on Earth and Nick Fury and Carol Danvers promised to find them a home. All the while the Skrulls are being used by Shield for espionage and other things while also not being able to move freely on planet Earth for fear of humanity’s retaliation. Some of the Skrulls grew discontent with this status quo. That’s not plot inconsistency to me.

But to me it just seems like a barrage of disconnected ideas- which is mostly fine in the MCU. But why not tell a straight story with the Skrulls? Stick with the subversion set up in Captain Marvel and build a coherent mythology. Do Secret Invasion with Kree, maybe? They just keep changing creative teams and doing whatever best suits them moment to moment. There are no bad Skrulls in The Marvels so there’s another isolated chapter that doesn’t follow the previous ideas. Its really no wonder people are checking out on this stuff.

I really don't see how. I'm not trying to be argumentative but the connection is pretty apparent in the first two episodes of Secret Invasion. Skrulls land on Earth in the 1990s while theyre on the run from the Kree empire, meet and befriend Fury and Danvers who promise to help them find a new home, flash forward 30 years and no new home is found and some Skrulls are unhappy with their limited position among Earths hierarchy and decide to make their presence known. The Skrulls who are the antagonists here didn't get there overnight. The 30 year gap is important to understanding their frustrations.
There are plenty of MCU projects that you can criticize for being disconnected but this one honestly feels pretty straightforward for now.
The movie coming out in November? I'm not sure why that's a factor right now.
