June 8, 2023, Hurghada, Egypt. The victim was 23. The story is everywhere and the full video is on Reddit PublicFreakout. I wasn't sure if it was okay to post the video here. It comes with a WARNING, but it's shot from shore and most of it is the guy and shark together with lots of movement and splashing, not blood and gore explicit, but obviously terrible and heartbreaking. It reminded me of the scene in Jaws when the kid at the beach gets eaten. At one point it looks like a cloud of blood rises, then he's lifted, then flipped upside down with both legs extended up in the air and twisting. It was a tiger shark. A whaaat? In aggressiveness they're right behind the great white, but unlike other sharks that take a bite then swim away after realizing it's not their meal, tiger sharks eat literally anything from license plates to humans. This shark stayed on this poor guy and devoured him.

You know the thing about a shark? He's got cold eyes, lifeless eyes. Like a doll's eyes.

Shark's eyes always seem in contrast to me with those of snakes, alligators and crocodiles (i like snakes and lizards). There's a receptive glint in a croc's eye.

Shit just read the man was a Russian citizen. So not just trained whales, now Putin apparently has trained attack sharks that hone in and single out young Russian men who should be on the front line serving mother Russia, not off lollygagging around at Club Med.
You wonβt serve us comrade? Fine, weβll serve youβ¦
edit, I obviously wrote that as a joke, cause of all the suspicious oligarch deaths, but I just read the article that says it happened in front of his father, and he was screaming papa save me. I canβt even imagine (my son is 23, coming over for vacation in a couple weeks). Heart breaking.

The picture with the guyβs legs up in the air is really haunting.
How did they get the shark so that the people there could beat it to death?

Saw the video.... horrific.
To think this was happening dozens of times an hour over the course of several days to the crew of the Indianapolis... was the thing of nightmares.

Saw the video.... horrific. To think this was happening dozens of times an hour over the course of several days to the crew of the Indianapolis... was the thing of nightmares. I was reading about that a couple weeks ago, after it was mentioned in another thread... they huddled in a big group (or groups) in a circle... You did not want to be in the outer ring where men got picked off gradually one by one. Went from over 900 that survived the sinking to only a little over 300 iirc (some also died from exposure and/or drinking sea water).

I feel horrible for him and his loved ones who have to live with his death being captured on video.
