Sad Sad Sad, that one can’t enjoy their life without getting Inebriated. Time to GROW THE FUCK UP! I've had an alcohol problem since the late 90s. Although last year, I did 8 weeks of no alcohol before a holiday and I've never felt better in my life - getting that crap out of my system, and I could tell my body was functioning so much better. Plus, I only needed about 5 hours sleep a night and would wake up at 4am feeling completely refreshed and ready to get on with the world. I know I have the strength in me, I just need the catalyst to do it.

I know I have the strength in me, I just need the catalyst to do it. It is such a conditioned cultural promotion, that consumption of it has become a recreational phenomena. Not only does it create much dysfunction in our lives, it is a mass contributor to health issues, both physiological and psychological. The broken establishment also pushes it, as alcohol generates vast profits and it also gives its agencies relevance for existence. Like smoking, this is one of the first things a doctor will ask upon a visit. The catalyst is will-power. I haven’t had alcohol, (unless in cooking), for almost 16yrs now. Alcohol consumption was never a big problem with me, but I never felt at my best the next day.

It is never a solution to life’s problems. It doesn’t make them go away.

Why do people need this drug in their system? It makes them dicks. Old people drink beer or liquor as a blood thinner so they won't die from a blood clot or stroke. Crazy people shouldn't have so much as a teaspoon of alcohol because it makes them more crazy. People with type 2 diabetes caused by Covid can't drink alcohol because it would convert into deadly amounts of sugar. In other words it might kill them.

It depends on the person. Some people can drink and not become addicted. Some people take years to become addicted. And some people are immediately addicted.
You ARE better off never knowing by NEVER trying. Some things just are not worth knowing.
Addiction or not, it still reflects on one's behavior.
Alcohol is the worst drug in the world, due to its promotion for recreation and many many crimes stem from its use, yet it is legal.
No, actually people addicted to crack or meth are the absolute worst, it makes them hyperactive and paranoid. Even without a gun or knife such people are far more dangerous than a drunkard because their strength is like that of 5 people while in that crazed drug induced rampage. It temporarily makes them crazy strong but it also kills them pretty quickly like burning the candle at both ends.

Crack is considered illicit though and a vast majority of people drink alcohol than smoke crack or meth.

Got nothing against it either way. However, this is actually the gateway drug imo
