Discussing Star Wars on the net used to be one of my favorite ways to kill time at work, but you can't talk about this franchise anymore. This is what the fans are now. Even back when people thought the prequels sucked, you could still just talk about the movies. Lucas Loyalists did this. Fucking freaks.

If the films were good then no one would trash Rose Tico or Finn or Reva. Secondly, hello, they do have vocal activists in prominent roles at Disney. Again, if the films were good, then they could let their agenda in there and the complaints would be quashed by the devotion of fans.

The sequels made more money and have mostly better reviews than the prequels. Cold hard facts. You Lucas-only cultists have no objectivity at all.

According to StarWarsNews.net (via SFF Gazette), “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight is aiming to have his latest draft of the screenplay finished by the end of this month with the script handed into Lucasfilm executives before Christmas.

From Daisy Ridley during an interview at Sundance:
"I will tell you, Steve, when I saw you in Park City, I had not been approached. I was asked some, not by you, but I was asked something when I was there and strangely, people were asking me stuff and I was like, “No, I'm not doing another one.” Then it all happened after I came back. It was such a nice reception. I was shitting myself before I went on stage, because no one knew I was going to that. No one knew I was going to Celebration, bar like Kathy [Kennedy] and there were a couple of people. I was so nervous. Oh my God. It was such a wonderful reception. I'm very excited. The story is really cool. I'm waiting to read a script because, obviously, I don't have any other updates. It's not what I expected, but I'm very excited."

Look at the Transformers films. 2) film criticism means little, especially in modern times. 3) I don’t think George Lucas is anything special. Where did you get that from?

If you consider inflation the top 3 highest grossing are 1) ANH 2) TFA 3) ESB And the bottom 3 are 9) RoS 10) AotC 11)Solo

Ok, this lady isn't helping herself.
Leia is one of the most popular heroines in pop culture. Arguably the first too. I hate the prequels and don't care one bit about the Filoniverse, but Padme and Ahsoka have their fans. All of the Disney movies, but 1 had a female protagonist. The two Ewok movies had a female protagonist. There's been several directors of various shows who were women, Lucas' ex-wife had a big influence on the OT, and a woman has been in charge of the franchise since 2012.
And this bitch thinks she's some kind of pioneer.

“I like to make men uncomfortable. I enjoy making men uncomfortable.”
Yeeeeaahhhh..... this movie is doomed unless they fire her (which they should).

“I like to make men uncomfortable. I enjoy making men uncomfortable.” Yeeeeaahhhh..... this movie is doomed unless they fire her (which they should). Not so sure that’s going to happen. Even if they do she’ll probably be replaced with someone similar. This seems to be Disney LucasFilm’s plan going forward: Movies and television shows with original trilogy orientation and characters: overseen by John Favreau with assistance from Dave Filoni Movies and television shows with prequel trilogy orientation and characters: overseen by Dave Filoni Movies and television shows with sequel trilogy orientation and characters: overseen by a potpourri of different feminist upstart filmmakers There have been a few exceptions to this model but this generally seems to be their plan. The new Rey movie is headed up by this Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. And the new “The Acolyte” television series is headed up by Leslye Headland. (Go look at her resume and some of her recent public comments. You’ll see it’s very similar to Obaid-Chinoy.)
