A Christmas Carol (1938)--Gene and Kathleen Lockhart played Mr. and Mrs. Cratchit; their daughter June appeared as one of their children, Belinda.
The three Lane sisters (and the non-related Gale Page) appeared as siblings in Daughters Courageous and Four Daughters and its two sequels. Rosemary and Lola Lane also appeared as each other's double in Hollywood Hotel. The first time I saw the film, I thought it was one actress in a dual role, as is usually the case in films. The sisters, although not twins, looked enough alike that they were able to play one another's double in the movie.

The Sundowners 1960 Many men fancy and flirt with Mrs Firth (Glynis Johns) among them is Jack Patchogue - Mayor of Cawndilla (Mervyn Johns). In real life Mervyn Johns was Glynis dad! It is an accidental oddity, since the actor who was supposed to play Jack Patchogue never turned up, and Glynis called her dad to jump in, to save valuable celluloid and the costs of extras. Glynis Johns and Mervyn Johns also appeared together in The Halfway House (1944)  |
