I think we all know up front that Muslims worship their Korans as the Living Word of God, more so than fundamentalists Christian fetishized the Bible. And they believe with all their hearts and mind that Mohammad literally saw the face of God, therefore his image was elevated to a god-like status. Therefore, are you surprised that people will defend their religion in such violent way? The Charlie Hebdos folks did nothing to stop Muslim extremism by making a big deal out of a Mohammad cartoon. And I’m totally free speech…and I’ll post an image of Mohammad right now…but it was vainglorious and tragic thing for a publication to do. The only way you’re going to absolutely stop all Muslim religious terrorism is to kill off the Muslims and that would make you worse than the terrorists.

Mohammed was a warlord that spread his religion with a sword and his descendants did the same. And Islam today is spread by terrorism and violence. They move into a new place, pretend to be peaceful until their numbers increase, and then claim offense as an excuse for violence. That's how Islam started and it's how it continues today. It's absurd to pretend otherwise. Violence always follows Islam.

It does not matter to a devout Muslim the real story behind Mohammad anymore than a devout Christian will entertain the belief Jesus was not God himself. Try forcing the belief Christianity is a false religion and everything they believe to be holy and true is lie and see how violent Christians can get. I think Islam, Christianity, Judaism, etc, are all equally false.

Christ was a peaceful dude, a hippy cult leader. Mohammed was a warlord. Big difference in the psyche of the followers.

It's a desert, so the main source of income was camel raiding and tribal warfare. It was the 7th century and if you read the Koran itself, it calls for no more violence against the enemy neighbor infidel than the Bible does. That's how things were back then. Actual peace and cooperation, rather than warfare would have been unknown to them. Jesus was a peaceful dude, however his followers, as it turns out, were not.

I am on no denial about Islam or how shitty the Muslims treated the people they conquered, but their body count is no worse than the Christians. Why do you believe in it?

Give us a hard concrete example of the media not “censoring” itself regarding Christianity.

How did you decide who is "religious"?
I remember surveys years ago that found "religious" people were less educated, earned less income, had less stable marriages and other such parameters, compared to atheists. I did not see any attempts to measure "morality" specifically, it being much more difficult to measure obviously playing games with children.
The "religious" performed less well (by those measures) because the survey lumped "Christians" together with all the other religions. If you separate out the religions they all; Jews, Hindus, Muslims, et cetera, had more education, earned more income, had more stable marriages and otherwise did better than atheists and Christians.
It has been said atheists and Christians are two sides of the same bad coin. There are anomalies in the data such as Catholics having the most stable marriages, but on the whole "Christians" drag down the "religious."
In my own experience I have noticed that atheists, especially on these discussion boards, have failed science and think everyone else did. Christians tend to have little regard for any discipline including science. For many Christians membership is more important than any standards or practices. Both Christians and atheists tend to have tragically simplistic world views.

It is a simple outlook, but not simplistic.
