What's wrong with a two-child benefit cap? I support it with qualifications. Shouldn't apply to those with more than 2 children already as that's moving the goalposts and these things are often taken into account as part of family planning. Should be staged that any 3rd child born after a particular date is ineligible for the benefit. The savings should also be used to target child poverty overall as it has shot up since the Conservatives bought in the policy. Shouldn't effectively punish those who have made wise child bearing decisions though for anyone in the future who decides to have more children than is sensible. Get them up the chimneys.

My first gig that was.

Livingston was just as left wing as Corbyn and he was OK. Certainly pissed all over Johnson’s feeble stint as mayor. Ken was the best Mayor we have had, wish we still had him. Well he did his best to make anti-Semitism a fun thing, but we don't need him now that we have Corbyn

Did Keir previously condemn it or was it someone else? When he was running for party leader, he said he would axe it if he became PM. But what is the point of an opposition that makes the same economic assumptions as the government? It's not like the Tories claimed to be introducing the cap out of cruelty, they simply claimed it was necessary for affordability. And now Labour agree with them. What is the point in Labour? Even where they condemn the Tories, they'll backtrack after 'reassessing'. What do Labour supporters expect a party that agrees with every underlying justification for Tory policy to do different? Why do they expect Labour to stick with any current point of difference when they have backtracked on so many already? Why do they think the NHS will be safer with Labour when Streeting has quite openly said he wants to expand its privatisation?
