I try to avoid plastic as good as possible, although it get's recycled or re-used for energy at 75% in Europe. Shopping bags from plastic, really? Who the fuck doesn't use those reusable Ikea bags where you could carry a 40ton tank with if you had the strength?  That's a pickpocket's wet dream, plastic bags have strong handles that close the top when carrying groceries outside. |

Just like most things, the problem isn't the items in question itself, it's the assholes who ruin it for everyone else. The useless shits who litter all over the place instead of just being responsible citizens and cleaning up after themselves are the major culprits. If we bag our stuff like we're supposed to and bury it or whatever we wouldn't have an ocean of plastic floating around like we do today! Rissa |

99.9999999% of plastic straws will not make their way into the ocean. It's too bad they made that turtle video. Now we can't get straws in some places. Someone has a picnic near the Mississippi River. Tosses their plastic straw in. Makes it's way down and into the gulf where it may cause harm to ocean wildlife. Better safe than sorry. Chipotle has paper straws. Works good. |

Starbucks still offers plastic straws. I have been using my plastic straw for a couple months. Rinse after use... They sell straw cleaners We got a reusable hard plastic set of straws we use, bright colors with glitter so my daughter likes them. |
