Looking like a bad day for Rangers.::popcorn:: Rangers 1 Aberdeen 3 f/t Celtic were lucky to beat Motherwell.. 97th minute winner. After watching them in the Conference League in Frankfurt I have no idea how the Dons have managed to lose to anyone in the Scottush comp outside the Glasgow teams. These results are more like it. This squad should be third and pushing for 2nd.

Super Frankie Lampard has expressed interest in talking to the club. They wouldn't, would they?

They appoint managers for their contacts book now days so may take Lampard. He would see it as a stepping stone back into the Premier League. What they really need is a proper manager, I see that psycho Australian Muscat is in the frame too. He's taken a similar career route as Ange in Oz so may be seen as a choice. (when he played for us I thought he was the most dangerous person I have ever seen on a football pitch).

SPFL title sponsor cinch exercises right to end deal two years early The SPFL's title sponsor cinch is to end its arrangement with the league at the end of the current season. The online used-car dealership agreed a five-year contract in 2021 but has exercised its right to walk away after three years. Chief executive Neil Doncaster says the SPFL will begin to find a new sponsor. "The deal played its part in helping the SPFL deliver record-breaking revenues back to its 42 clubs in the last 12 months," said the league. Doncaster added that the SPFL "anticipate strong interest from businesses which recognise the unique value of partnering with Scotland's premier football competition". Cinch chief customer officer Robert Bridge says the the partnership with the SPFL has been "an important factor" in raising the brand's awareness. "As cinch looks to the future, its marketing focus is evolving to ensure continued success and growth," he added. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67009739

It's 49-year old Belgian Philippe Clement (overall career win rate 53.5% with Waasland-Beveren, Bruges, Genk and Monaco) Can he improve Rangers' fortunes? He may impose his carbohydrates/sugar restrictions on the squad. "A healthy mind is a healthy body," he says [in that order] He likes the counter-attack style, sucking in the opposition by playing out from the back. Rangers fans have had their say. "First and foremost we need to give him time and see what happens. We can’t keep sacking managers every six months," opines Colin from somewhere in Scotland. "Clement has a good record [several titles in Belgium but the best he could achieve at Monaco was getting them out of their Europa League group] let's hope he is the right choice. Rangers need to start getting things right off the park, on the park will follow when that happens. Best of luck, Philippe," says Gary, also from somewhere in Scotland. And here comes Anon [we'll call him Jean-Paul] "Why appoint a manager that was sacked only months before Michael Beale [Clement was shown the door by Monaco after a 17-month stint and a 51.3% win rate] when there is a manager still managing a club who want to keep him with the knowledge about the club and the way Scottish football works? I thought Muscat was a better choice." Clement himself has addressed the Rangers fans: "I'm hugely excited by this chance to achieve success at one of Europe's most iconic clubs". Interesting choice of adjective, no? Iconic. " ...very famous or popular, especially being considered to represent particular opinions or a particular time, instructs the Cambridge English Dictionary. Personally I'd have gone with 'ambitious' or 'committed' or even 'aspiring', something more unsentimental than 'iconic', perhaps. Or maybe I'm talking crap when he's a manager and I'm not. Rangers sit 2nd in the SPL, 7 points behind Celtic. Let's have a look at their season so far. 5 wins, 3 defeats in the SPL; 1 win and 1 defeat in the Europa League after being knocked out of the Champions League Qualifiers by PSV; and progression to the Scottish League Cup semi-finals, to play Hearts next month. Fun Fact : Phillipe Clement, below, played in the Premier League for Coventry City in season 98/99, making 12 appearances as a defender.

Cheers, stags. Nice summary! Certainly a more sensible choice than Lampard.
I wish him all the worst! 😎

Celtic have been slapped with a €23,500 fine by UEFA for the display against Lazio - following the Parkhead club being punished for fireworks in the away clash with Feyenoord.
The Hoops copped a €23,400 fine for letting off flares in last month’s Champions League clash with Feyenoord in De Kuip - and UEFA have punished the Scottish Premiership champions for their use of pyro as well as their "offensive" banner display before their eventual 2-1 defeat to the Italian giants. The club have been fined €3,500 for the fireworks and €20,000 over the banner that was unveiled by the Green Brigade.
Arseholes. Make the Green Brigade scum cough up.
