”… To put it bluntly, this version of Frasier is the kind of sitcom that the original Frasier was the antidote to.” Ouch.

”… To put it bluntly, this version of Frasier is the kind of sitcom that the original Frasier was the antidote to.” Ouch. Frasier would be aghast that that sentence ends with a preposition. :D

All they did was substitute Frasier's son Fred for Martin. Turned him from gifted student into a fireman so he's run of the mill like Martin. And Niles' son David is an awful character. The Jar Jar Binks of TV

Well, that’s too bad.

Well, that’s too bad. That's just my opinion.

Any other impressions from those of you who have watched it?

I haven’t seen, but I’m surprised by the very positive comments on the Frasier subreddit, which seemed to hate the trailer as much as I did. The consensus there seems to be that the show doesn’t hit its stride for a few eps but is much better than the trailer.

Saw the first 3 episodes and have to say was pleasantly surprised that it was much better than I thought it would be. You miss some people but new additions, especially Niles' son and Mick Lyndhurst do great in their roles. I will continue with it.

Just finished it last night. Frasier is my all-time favourite sitcom, so when the new series was announced there was no chance of me NOT watching it, even after the initial reviews didn’t sound very positive.
It doesn’t come close to the original of course, with Niles, Daphne and Martin, but I had many a good laugh. I hope it keeps going, but if it turns out to be a one-off thing I can’t say I will be terribly disappointed.
