Brisbane looked irresistible 2 weeks ago. Warriors were emphatic at home, but this is prime time baby. Only chance for the visitors is a nervy start from Brisbane and the Warriors putting 3-4 tries before they settle. The Broncos will run all over them in the second half.

I agree, and couldn’t have put it better myself.

Neither team defending well enough or showing sufficient ball control to have Penrith quaking in their boots. Brisbane leading 4 tries to 3, but 3 missed conversion attempts from the Warriors has really cruelled their chances. Main cause for optimism is that every time they've gone into the Broncos 20 they've scored. 24-12 the score
Strange old night for the touch judges, not calling an obvious forward pass that resulted in a penalty and led to a Warriors try and then calling one on a pass that was not just flat, but looked to have gone backward.

Very strong second half from Brisbane. Didn't concede a point and scored 3 tries themselves.
As for THAT dodgy try. My foreshadowing was completely unintentional. Ridiculous that it can't be over ruled and equally ridiculous that a touch judge who's notionally good enough at their job to be one of the last 4 used this season didn't pick it up in live play. Didn't change the result, but needs to be taken out of the game.

Very loose game, and not exactly the tune up Brisbane needs for a GF against a side that is absolutely fine to grind a game to victory, 2-0 if they need to.
The officiating was abysmal, the forward pass was just the tip of the iceberg.

I usually role my eyes at the "ref's are ruining the game" brigade, but none of the touch judges involved last night should ever officiate a finals game again after the three calls I mentioned. I stand by it not effecting the result, but it just makes the game look like some semi professional provincial club competition rather than a premium product. If you want to sell the game to the world, you need to get stuff like that right. Imagine trying to explain to someone not literate in the game why exactly a 2 metre forward pass can't be called back when you have a bunker there officiating on every minute bobble of the ball otherwise. It's bullshit.

It's bullshit. The worst part is that Sutton has had so many dodgy games this year, that he is more than likely going to not get the GF. Instead, it will be Ash Klein, who had a shocker last week. Adam Gee, who reffed the Panthers Storm game, would be my choice.
