I'm a classical liberal, genius. I want private ownership and productive ownership of the means of production in as many hands as possible. Only dummies think this is a game of monopoly and try to structure society based on their own selfish morality. If you don't understand say you don't understand, don't make shit up.

Actually, only dummies think that the government being in charge of the distribution/redistribution of wealth would be handled with any less corrupt bullfuckery than what you see in day-to-day government activities right now. You just want to turn the process over from a "selfish morality" to one where, against all odds or evidence, the benevolent state is going to be looking out for everybody's best interests with fair-minded caring and unfailing foresight. Good luck with that. I don't understand...why you pretend that "promote the general welfare" means "make sure everybody has enough shit." |

All it's doing is raising wages to meet high inflation, so in essence it's stabilizing not increasing. So if it had been defeated, per the Democrats' wishes, wages would go down, relatively. Why would anyone vote for that? How can anyone possibly stand there and say "I am in favour of your wages going down," (because that is what they are doing)? It is clear that their partisanship comes before doing good for the people. Shocking stuff. It just means a bunch of mouth-breathers have a bit more money they can waste on stupid shit they don't need instead of doing something useful with it. What you are advocating is putting everyone on the minimum wage needed to survive if they just waste it anything beyond that. Why are you so in favour of hurting your fellow citizens? |

I'm advocating people getting educated with how to manage their money and not squander it and then complain they're always broke. My dad was a reckless gambler/drinker who raised me and died when I was 16 with a bunch of debt and no education ever on money management. If I can figure this out and not wind up in crippling debt through irresponsible living beyond my means, anyone can with the right guidance. Now that doesn't mean the economic system doesn't need fixing, but the tools to avoid being a shmuck or victim are learnable and should be instilled early in life, instead of the system of being able to borrow oneself into a debt grave so many fall into. |

This is the grownup equivalent of a parent raising a child's allowance a tad. Most people are too dumb to be trusted with their own money anyway if you want to be brutally honest. You may have a point, yes it may well be that the wage increase is cancelled out by inflation and that it's peanuts compared to how much money the truly wealthy have. But still, it's more than Democrats ever got us! MAGA! |

And this is all you get on US tv, virtually all news outside Fox, and frankly Fox, judging by what little of it I watch, doesn't do all that effective of a job countering the lies. |

I was in the US in 2010 for 3 months and watched Fox quite a bit (as well as others). Glenn Beck was the worst - I could feel the insanity oozing from the screen and getting into my mind. I had to switch it off because it was doing my head in. |
