What is the best album to buy first?
Basically I'm asking for an album that isn't their worst album. But not their best neither.
Because, I assume that they're the best hard rock / heavy metal band out there. Not sure what catagory of those two they'd be in.
But I'm saying the reason why I reckon they're the best... is because every band that is among the best are british bands.
So I assume with this genre, this is no exception.
And, this is a weird question. Maybe.
So, what I was saying was no matter what the genre is... a british band would be the best in that genre.
ONly exception are genres that are based in America. But even some of those, possibly not.
For example eric clapton.

My favourite albums of theirs is Powerslave, then The Number of the Beast and then Brave New World.
To my ears, they sound better live, so I would give those studio albums as my answer to your question.

Just listen to the tracks they have on their YouTube channel. Yeah, for some of these people the OP mentioned, YouTube is your friend.

You know it, since most all live albums are fake. Just like exit stage left.
Basically, their live album Is a studio album? Am I correct?

Nah, live albums aren't studio albums. Iron Maiden has many live albums as well as greatest hits compilations. Well, you asked for what is not necessarily their best, so I recommended those studio albums. If you had asked for their best for a first time buyer, I would have recommended their Live After Death album, and maybe some greatest hits like Best of the Beast (the 2-disc version) or Edward the Great.
