mikef6 Voici le temps des assassins... aka
Deadlier Than the Male (USA) aka
Twelve Hours to Live (UK) 1956 directed by Julian Duvivier. French noir crime drama.
Jean Gabin who played many criminals and detectives during his post-war career, here he plays a victim of a possible con.
It takes it's time developing it's story, but it's directed by a master, so one is in good hands.
I really liked this movie.
Not sure, LOL, if this is going to become a regular thing Teleadm, but you have just inspired me to haul out my Blu Ray of
DEADLIER THAN THE MALE (Voici le temps des assassins) and I will almost certainly finally get around to watching it this week. I am struggling to get back into watching movies again after the loss of the person who has been watching them with me for the last 40 years so I'll take all the inspiration I can get. Even watching
THE LEARNING TREE was hard, because I kept thinking about how much Sonja would have enjoyed it. But still, her suffering is over and life goes on, and even though the new movies have, for the most part, turned to shit, there are plenty of great old movies to watch, and
DEADLIER THAN THE MALE looks like a cold stone classic.
