I assume most of you live in areas that consistently go below freezing every year. And many deal with snow and ice.
I live in New Orleans. Rarely do we go below freezing. Or get snow and ice. We just went through a week of snow, ice and below freezing temperatures.
It was an interesting experience. But I would hate to deal with that for weeks and months on end.
We are supposed to be back in the 70s this weekend (shorts and t-shirts). I would hate it if it was still cold. I was already getting tired of it by the third day of cold weather.
I don't know how you guys deal with it. My sympathies are with those who deal with cold weather every winter.

It is terrific. It is comfortable and it keeps me warm. But I am happy I don't need it most of the time. Nothing is more comfortable than shorts and t-shirts. And my electricity bill stays low during comfortable weather. This last month my electricity bill tripled because of the cold weather. Cold weather is just a pain. |

I remember I was at a comedy show in the middle of winter during a day it was extremely cold - even for that time of the winter and the comedian was in CA the day before and at my area and he walked into the stage with a winter parka on with his hood up looking like Kenny from South Park. Im serious. Nobody expected him to do that.( we all couldnt stop laughing). He was like its 70 degrees where he was just at. you are right about the pussies in the South but CA is the king of cold weather pussies.They are sooo used to 105 degree weather that when its 70 degrees they are wearing a winter coat. |

Maybe so, but my sympathies are with those who choose to live in a city, like New Orleans, where M lives, that is not far from the sea and yet is built below sea level! That, to me, makes the least sense of all - sort of like tempting fate on a daily basis. I don't see much comparison between that and living with a few months of cold weather every year.

I have lived in New Orleans below sea level for 59 years. I have never flooded. On the other hand, people who live North of the Mason Dixon line freeze every year. See the difference? |
