Both of those artists leave me cold I'm afraid, too much jazz based noodling for me. Zappa's Sheik Yerbouti and Joe's Garage have moments but that's about it for me.

For a couple of "avowed" anti-drug guys (witness reports on this are conflicting), perhaps they both could have used (at times) something with which to concentrate their mind.
I am a fan though, of certain albums.
